How vain it is to sit down to write when you haven't stood up to live?
Fantastic video on blue-chip Oregon Ducks signee Thomas Tyner, documenting Tyner’s game with ground-level highlights and 1v1 interviews. Very well done: soundtrack, photography, graphics, etc. Legit stuff. Enjoy!
S/O to Nick Taylor & Ball-n.com for putting this together. From the BallNnorthwest youtube channel
Good looks, Reggie—thanks for shooting this over.
The infamous photo that will haunt Oregon’s entire 2012 season. This was a terribly blown call by Pac12 officials, reversing a catch that was initially ruled incomplete [watch the video here]. But let’s be real, Stanford was rolling on their drive, and likely would’ve punched it in regardless (Ertz TD came on 1st and goal from the Oregon 10). It actually helped Oregon to a certain extent, because Stanford could’ve ended up milking far too much of the clock, reducing the Ducks’ chances of a game-winning drive. Forget the play. The instance that has me far more fired up is the blown call that happened directly before the Ertz touchdown, on 4th and 1. Everyone in the stadium knew all eyes would be on the line of scrimmage in a short yardage situation knowing Stanford was about to power it up the middle—how in the hell do the officials miss this blatant false start?
Stanford converted the 4th down on a rush up-the-gut by FB Ryan Hewitt. Odds are, they would’ve converted had the player not jumped early, but I’m going with Oregon’s D to get the ball back if the Trees were forced into a 4th and 6th, if the officials would’ve done their job. BCS, this is the type of shit that ruins seasons, it shouldn’t be decided this way. Same goes for Stanford, if it hadn’t been for their terribly blown call vs. Notre Dame, THEY would be booking flights to Miami right now instead. Go Ducks!
